Clece’s social project has received the \u2018Menina Award 2017\u2019<\/strong> from the Valencian Community for its contribution to the fight against gender-based violence. The Valencian Regional Government Representative, Juan Carlos Moragues, presented the award to Miguel \u00c1ngel Segovia, Clece’s Regional Director for the Valencian Community, along with awards for other winners in this third edition.<\/p>\n

The awards are given by the Regional Government to those institutions, associations or projects who deliver an outstanding contribution in the Region aimed at making society more equal and free from violence.\u00a0 Commenting on the award, Miguel \u00c1ngel Segovia stated \u201cThis is a recognition of our commitment to raising awareness of this struggle against a real burden on society and encouraging the workplace integration of these women. Employment is the best tool we have to enable people to find a way out of gender-based violence. It brings self-worth, financial independence, the ability to continue to fight for what you want, to have objectives. It improves self-confidence, the ability not to give in, and to continue to move forward<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The award jury comprised experts in the fight against gender-based violence from the three provinces that make up the Valencian Community. In addition to Clece’s social project, Information Engineering students from the University of Alicante, Alba Garrido, the head of the Guardia Civil Judiciary Police in Alicante, the lawyer Irene Adelantado, Coordinator of the Office for Victims of Crime in Castellon, and Inspector Pilar Bog\u00f3 of the National Police and head of UFAM [Women and Families Unit] were also given awards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
